Former world champion boxer Carl Frampton surprised Year 10 pupils at Queen’s University Belfast as they celebrated their graduation from the Junior Academy Sports Programme — a three-year initiative using sport to inspire leadership, teamwork, and higher education ambitions. Pupils from Ashfield Boys’ High School, Belfast Boys’ Model School, and Strangford Integrated College took part in the programme, which aims to build skills and raise aspirations through a sustained connection with university life. In this video, we capture highlights from the event, student reflections, and Carl’s powerful message about resilience, opportunity, and the life-changing impact of sport.
